Many people hesitate to visit a church unless they know what it will be like when they attend. Perhaps we can assist you in knowing what to expect when you visit us. The Oxon Hill Church of Christ is part of a fellowship of congregations around the world. Congregations of the Church of Christ exist in each state in the United States, and in 110 other countries. We are non-denominational with a plea for religious unity based solely on God's Word. Church of Christ congregations, ours included, are self-governed assemblies with no earthly headquarters, nor man-made organization

Our Worship Assemblies are simple and devout, designed to draw the worshipper closer to God and provide spiritual strength. Our Bible Studies provide age appropriate classes for the purpose of training the individual believer in the riches of God's Word, The Bible. In all things our purpose is to be governed by the Bible, and it's principles, alone.

Our Worship consists of the same elements which were part of the worship of the early church, and which we read about in the Scriptures. We pray prayers of thanksgiving and praise to God. We sing hymns and songs of praise to God just as the early Christians did in an "a cappella", congregational manner. We celebrate a weekly observance of the Lord's Supper just as they did. We preach and teach God's Word for our instruction and edification. And we participate in a free-will offering, cheerfully of our means just as those early Christians, and for the purpose of supporting the work of the congregation.
